The Cliche

This is a poem, soon to be song, i wrote shortly after the breakup. Its cliche yea, but so is life! "Life is pain. Anyone who says otherwise is selling somthing." (Princess Bride). anywhoo this is what ive got so far.

What Ive got isnt half of what Im use to
use to look up now Im only looking back
you turned your back on what we had
now I am only half a man
It is true
It is sad and upsetting
but soon I'll be letting it go
For just how long I may never know
Are my colors starting to show
I dont know
What I can have isnt all that I want
and its times like these that assure me
its a fact
Now Im lying down flat on my chest
quietly hoping that this would work out for the best
Im not sure how this will affect me
I have no choice but i wish you would let me
choose what i do
but i dont know
no i dont know
and im sad 'cause neither do you
